A metal and wood sculpture with gouache painted embellishments titled Starkisser by listed American artist Jerry Coker (b. 1938). The abstract work features five overlapping wood panels comprised of angularly shaped edges accented by irregular metal fragments and gestural black brushstrokes. The piece is signed and titled to the verso. A hanging wire is affixed to the verso.

Born in Arkansas, Jerry Coker has spent much of his life in Florida. He is especially known for mixed media metal masks which he refers to as ‘identity masks’ and are based on people from his rural childhood. Some of his frequent materials include roofing metal, wood, cardboard, and other cast-off materials. His work can be found in many important collections such as Microsoft Corp and the Mark Newman Collection, among others.

- wear, dents and scratches throughout the edges of wood panels; mayor corrosion, accretions, slightly bent areas and scratches throughout the metal surface; minor discoloration and scratches throughout gouache painting.
