1960s Mattel "Ponytail" Barbie, Midge, and Ken Dolls with Case and Outfits

A collection of 1960s Mattel fashion dolls with a carrying case and accessories. This selection features a Ponytail Barbie with raven hair, side glancing blue eyes, and cherry red lips, a titian Midge with a smattering of freckles, and a blonde Ken with flocked hair and aqua eyes. Each doll is embossed to the backside with the appropriate Mattel hallmark. Also offered is a 1963 red vinyl carrying case, marked ‘Barbie and Ken’ and embellished with images of each character in fine evening wear. The case opens to reveal divided compartments; one side for Ken, and one for Barbie. Additionally, several Barbie outfits including the blue and white Suburban Shopper dress (1959-1964), the rose colored sundress edged in white crochet from the Barbie-Q outfit (1959-1962), and a red and blue block color dress titled Fancy Free (1963-4). Ken is accompanied by the top from the Sleeper set (1962-1963), a tennis jacket, and a cream cardigan with navy and red trim. Among the accessories offered are a pair of white sun hats, a flowered apron, plastic hangers, sunglasses, and a denim belt.

Condition
- case has dust, accretion and light warping; sealant to Barbie’s face is disintegrating and her hair is not in a ponytail and is matted; Ken is missing an arm, his face is gummy, and his hair is disintegrating.
