An 1844 hand-colored engraving titled The Meet of the Vine Hounds engraved by William Henry Simmons (British, 1811 – 1882) after an original painting by Henry Calvert, (British, 1798 – 1869). The print depicts a well-dressed lady and gentleman arriving in a horse-drawn carriage as riders gather for the day’s hunt and the hounds head off to the right. The names of the artist and engraver are printed to the lower margin. This engraving was published by Henry Graves & Co. It is presented under glass in a black wood frame and is ready to hang with a wire.
