1900 First Edition Second State "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" by L. Frank Baum

A 1900 antique hardcover copy of L. Frank Baum’s fantasy classic The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, first edition, second state/printing, in the ‘B’ binding variation with the publisher’s name in in unserifed font in red at the base of the spine (Greene & Hanff, p.26). Published by Geoge M. Hill Company of Chicago, with an 1899 copyright date to the verso of the title page, and illustrated with the complete set of 24 color plates. It has a red-and-black illustrated back end paper with a thirteen line colophon with no border. The volume is housed in a custom clamshell case.

Second state points/corrections include: p. 14 line 1 ‘low wail of’, p. 81 fourth line from the bottom ‘pieces’, p. 227 line 1 ‘While the Woodman’, p. 34 plate has the blue blotches removed from the moon, p. 92 has the red shading removed from the horizon.
