A hand-knotted Persian Qum panel silk rug. This rug is comprised of a patchwork of panels woven in a myriad of intricate designs featuring medallions, mihrab forms, and palmettes in shades of brown, olive greens, dark blue, sage, and ivory. The main border displays cartouches against a dark blue ground, and is framed by meandering carnation secondary stripes. The rug is finished with kilim strips and natural warp fringe.
