German Rosewood and Figured Bureau de Dame, Mid-19th Century

A German rosewood and figured walnut bureau de dame. This piece features a slant front and a curved edge drawer with foliate motifs that coordinate with the caps at the front legs. It opens to a writing surface with a fitted interior. The desk rises on slender cabriole style legs that terminate in tapered feet. It has remnants of a label and a stenciled number to the back.
