Finely Hand-Knotted Inscribed Persian Qom Wool Area Rug
Item Details
A finely hand-knotted Persian Qom rug, inscribed by ‘Erami’. The highly-detailed room-sized rug is woven in a palette of rich blue tones, sage, cream, red, peach, pink, and burnt orange. The saturated navy blue field begins with a starburst pendant medallion, and it is ornamented with scrolling delicate vine-work, along with clusters of boteh and floral motifs. Framing the field is a main border designed with elements found in the field with added palmettes, along with a meandering guard border. There is an outer border of linked lotus flowers, with the inscription at one end. It is finished with overcast selvedges and a natural wool warp fringe. It is labeled ‘Made in Iran’.
