A limited edition 1991 serigraph on paper by contemporary Taiwanese-American artist Michael Leu (born 1950), titled Bedtime Stories. The print depicts a portrait of a woman and cat illustrated in sketchy black linework set against a splotchy blue, red, yellow, and green background. The print is numbered ‘126/145’ to the lower left and is signed, titled, and dated to the upper corners. It is presented behind non-glare glass in a wooden frame with black acrylic finish and a hanging wire.

Michael Leu was born in Taipei, Taiwan in 1950, and was recognized for his artistic talent at an early age, winning first place International Children’s Painting Contest in Tokyo at the age of seven. He went on to study at the Fusing Art and Craft School in his hometown of Taipei, and later at the Otis/Parsons Institute in Los Angeles, California. Leu is known for his images rendered in a spontaneous style that combines both Impressionistic and Expressionistic influences and his sophisticated sense of color.

- light scuffing to glass and frame. Part of frame’s finish has chipped away to lower right.
