Item Details

A circa 1910 antique Japanese handwoven silk damask haori jacket, hand decorated with shibori tie-dyed design. This purple sayagata (interlocking Buddhist swastikas) pattern damask silk features an off-white kanoko pattern kiku (chrysanthemum) motif. The interior is partially lined in red silk with yuzen resist-dyed design of tsuru (crane) and kanoko pattern clouds.

Condition

- thread pull to interior lining, some staining to interior lining, stain to one sleeve reverse.
