Antique Brownfield "Ambrosia" Flow Blue Earthenware Platter
Item Details
A mid-19th century English earthenware platter. The piece presents a Flow Blue Ambrosia floral pattern to the white ground with gilding to the molded foliate handles. The platter bears a ‘W &B’ maker’s mark in blue underglaze indicating manufacture by Brownfield of Cobridge, England. Wood & Brownfield went under the name of William Brownfield starting in 1850 with his son later joining the business from 1871.
