A circa 1890 antique Japanese handwoven silk crepe formal five crested furisode kimono, hand decorated with yuzen resist dyed design, surihaku gold leaf highlights and embroidered accents. This royal blue kimono features kiku (chrysanthemum), kasamatsu (pine), ume (plum), patterned sensu (folding fans), patterned nejigiku (twisted chrysanthemum), swirling water, waves, tasseled cords and other motifs. Also included are five yuzen resist-dyed kamon crest, two to the chest area and three along the top of the back. The lower portion of the interior is lined in the same decorated silk crepe as the exterior and the remaining interior is lined in red silk crepe.
