A circa 1915 antique Japanese handwoven silk crepe formal five crested furisode kimono, hand decorated with extensive, multicolor yuzen resist-dyed design and embroidered accents. This black scenic kimono features flying cranes, kasamatsu (pine), clouds, ume (plum), hanakuruma flower carts with the Genji wheel design and other motifs and feather, hanabishi, seigaiha (wave) and other patterns. The lower portion of the interior is lined in the same decorated silk crepe as the exterior and the remaining interior is lined in red silk crepe.
Condition
- small spot stain to back of one sleeve, small spot stain to back of kimono, discoloration to bottom of one sleeve in the back of kimono.
