Circa 1925 Vintage Handwoven Silk Formal Five Crested Furisode Kimono

A circa 1925 vintage Japanese handwoven silk formal five crested furisode kimono. This kimono is hand decorated with extensive, multicolor yuzen resist-dyed design, surihaku gold and platinum leaf highlights and embroidered accents. It features kasamatsu (pine), kiku (chrysanthemum), ume (plum), kiri (paulownia), sasanoha (leaves of bamboo grass), momiji (autumn leaves), hanabishi and other motifs throughout and hexagon, diamond, kagome (lattice), sayagata (interlocking Buddhist swastika), seigaiha (wave) and other patterns throughout; with flowing water to the lower half. The five mon crest are located two to the chest and three to the top of the back. The lower portion of the interior is lined in the same decorated silk as the exterior and the remaining interior is lined in off-white silk.
