A hand-knotted Persian Karaja Heriz carpet runner. This wool pile rug features a series of hooked diamond medallions with stylized animal figures and flowers, in a palette of grey, powder blue to indigo, forest green, pale orange, yellow ochre, red, and ivory. The borders carry over in the style of the main field pattern with repeating shapes and rectilinear leaves. The rug is finished with overcast selvedges and wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
