Vintage Fine Hand-Knotted Persian Zanjan Rug

Item Details

A vintage fine hand-knotted Persian Zanjan rug. This rug features a coral-red field ornamented with an array of abstract and stylized organic motifs in ochre, olive, slate blue, and umber. The center field is bound by two crenelated trims which form the large corner spandrels containing similar motifs on a rich chocolate-brown ground. The rug has an unresolved principal border containing abstract motifs in coordinating colors and is flanked by minor borders. The rug is finished with a single-wrapped selvedge along the sides and a natural warp fringe to the ends.
