Vintage Fine Hand-Knotted Persian Malayer Rug
Item Details
A vintage fine hand-knotted Persian Malayer rug. This rug features a light sinopia-red field ornamented densely with geometric motifs in tangerine, deep olive green, navy, and coffee brown, which surround a large medallion at the center with hooked and stepped crenelations. The center field is bound by a saw-tooth crenelated trim which join the four corner spandrels containing similar motifs on cream. The rug has an unresolved principal border containing abstract motifs in coordinating colors on a carmine-red ground and is flanked by minor borders. The rug is finished with a single-wrapped selvedge along the sides and a natural warp fringe to the ends.
