A 1920 The Stars and Stripes File of the American Expeditionary Forces hardcover book. Designed in the style in a large ledger format, this book was published in 1920 by A.E.F. Associates in Minneapolis. Containing hundreds of official newspapers headlines, stories, military figures, and advertisements from the ‘Great War,’ this educational and reference book presents an introductory page from Clayton M. Ryder, stressing the historical relevance to this piece and assisting in the morale of the American fighting troops in France. Marked on the front cover, ‘Printed in France From February 8th, 1918 to June 13th, 1919,’ in black print. There is an image of a perched patriotic eagle in the foreground of the front cover.

Fair Condition
- creasing, paper loss, soiling, stains, and foxing,
- the binding is detached from the spine
- some of the pages exhibiting brown spotting
- back cover has a section of the lower right-hand corner missing
- musty smell from being in storage for many years
- numerous tears in the individual newspaper headlines contained
in the ledger-style book
- green colored binding tape on the spine area
