A circa 1880 antique Japanese handwoven silk formal crested furisode kimono, hand decorated in yuzen resist-dyed design with gold embroidered accents. This light plum kimono features kasamatsu (pine), sasanoha (leaves of bamboo grass), ume (plum blossom), tsuru (crane) and kawa river motifs hand-painted in a color palette of light yellow, light green and grey-blue. The design is presented to the lower front and back panels, the lower front and back sleeves and the susomawashi (lining at the bottom). It includes five white mon, two to the front and three to the back. Red silk partially lines the interior.
