An antique hand-knotted Persian accent rug, likely Yalameh. The rug features a red lozenge field with diamond central medallion and allover herati design. The field is bound by cream colored spandrels, rectilinear meander minor borders, and a carnation principal border. It has overcast selvedges and fringe to each end; this piece may be a remnant of a larger work as the fringe encroaches into the main pattern.
