A pastel drawing on paper by artist Oscar Murillo (Mexican/American; 1940- 2017). This piece depicts a female figure with a loosely outlined mirror-image of her rendered in blue in the background. The artist’s estate stamp is present to the verso of the drawing.

Oscar Murillo was a prominent figure in the 1960s and 1970s Los Angeles art scene. Born in Mexico, he immigrated to the United States and settled permanently in the San Fernando Valley. He studied at San Fernando Valley State College (known today as Cal State Northridge) and received his Bachelors and Masters of Fine Arts. Murillo remained active in his community, teaching art and exhibiting his art in galleries in San Fernando Valley, CA and Santé Fe, NM.

- to fair; minor wear to edges of frame; dust and accretions present to paper and frame; slight smudging due to excess pigment; loss of paint to corners of frame.
