An oil painting on canvas titled Kiss by listed Chinese-American artist Esther Liu (born 1950), dated 1981. This work features a couple embracing suspended against a pastel background. It is signed, titled, and dated to the verso.
Known for her Abstract Expressionist composition, Esther Liu studied art at the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada and at NYU in New York City. She was a member of the EPOXY Art Group, a collective group of artists hailing from Hong Kong and China active in New York in the 1980s and 1990s. A solo exhibition featuring her work was held by the Pao Gallery at the Hong Kong Arts Centre. In 2018, she was included in Art Across Archives, an exhibition that featured work by the EPOXY Art Group.
