A hand-knotted Persian Karaja wool runner. This rug is rendered in a palette of red, blue, green, pink, gray, black, and ivory. The red hued field features a row of alternating square and hooked hexagonal medallions, along with rectilinear designed floral and foliate motifs, as well as other symbols and filler motifs. Framing the field is a main navy grounded trefoil flower border, as well as a meandering guard border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
