An early 20th C. hand carved sculpture of the French heroin and Saint Joan of Arc by Italian sculptor Guglielmo Pugi (1850-1915). Signature inscribed to base.

Guglielmo Pugi (1865-1950), born in Fiesole, Italy, was an Italian sculptor whose studio was in Florence. The artist was present at the 1901 World Fair in Buffalo and some of his sculptures are still in Buffalo parks today.
