Hand-Knotted Inscribed Persian Qashqai Wool Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted inscribed Persian Qashqai wool rug. This rug is rendered in an abrash palette of deep red, cream, blue, hot pink, gray, peach, and beige. The deep red hued field features a row of central medallions edges in foliate motifs, and infilled with floral forms, flanked my an inscription near one end. It also features an array of colorful birds, animals, floral motifs, and other rectilinear symbols throughout. Framing the field is a carnation meander, an animal meander, and a floret border, as well as diagonal striped minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
