A needlepoint Aubusson-style wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of ivory, brick red, shades of green and ochre. The field begins with a large ivory grounded oval medallion infilled with an ornate bouquet, framed in a brick hue. The remainder of the field is equally elaborate with floral arrangements, swags, scrolling leaves, and tonal brick designs. Framing the field is a thin meandering border broken by corner floral motifs. Finishing this rug are hand finished edges and folded ends, along with hanging clips to one end. It is unlabeled.

Condition

- minor wear and discoloration; loose threads to the underside are characteristic of the needlepoint process.
