A pair of Chinese Tang dynasty (618-907) painted ceramic horse figures. Each horse is naturalistically modeled with heads slightly turned, standing straight with all four hooves planted, and the surfaces incised to show fine muscle detail. Unmarked.

Testing
C-Link Research & Development Limited, Hong Kong, Thermoluminescence test no. 541HF37 is consistent with the dating of this lot.

Condition

- right rear leg on one of the sculptures has a crack; ear is broken; scuffing and wear to surface.
