A vintage hand-knotted Indo-Persian Tabriz area rug. This wool pile rug is worked in a colorway of deep reds and blues, with accents of pink, green, khaki-gold, and ivory throughout. It commences with a lobed medallion comprised of rectilinear floral motifs and flanked by palmette pendants. The curvilinear field is populated with floral racemes, swags, and bouquets, and extends to ivory spandrels infilled with complementary designs. Framing the field are reciprocal guard borders, while the primary border displays a rosette pattern over medium blue. The rug is finished with overcast selvedges and wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
