Hand-Knotted Caucasian Shirvan Wool Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Caucasian Shirvan wool rug. This rug is rendered in a slight abrash palette of red, indigo, yellow, green, ivory, and brown. The red hued field features a pole of two hexagonal medallions each infilled with a memling gul, and edged in picket forms. It also features serrated bands enclosing the medallions, along with boteh motifs, and other geometric symbols. Framing the field is a main rosette border over ivory, as well as checked minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
