A vintage Chippendale style two-piece mahogany secretary with drop front desk made by Maddox “Mad-Ox” Tables of Jamestown, New York. This secretary features an interrupted pediment top with decorative finial. This two-door cabinet presents mullioned glass doors, each door having 13 individual panes of glass. The slant front opens to reveal a fully fitted interior with a fan carved center drawer. with additional drawers and open compartments, the four stacked drawers on the base of the desk feature a serpentine or “oxbow” front; with ball and claw front and back feet. It contains brass Chippendale style batwing bails and escutcheons. retaining its manufacturer’s tag to the verso.
