A boys’ circa 1870 Meiji Period (1868-1912) Japanese handwoven silk ceremonial five crested miyamairi infant kimono. This black kimono depicts a sumi-e ink painting style design of tsuru (crane) and matsu (pine), rendered in black, grey, red and turquoise to a white background with embroidered accents throughout. The design is featured to the center front and back and to the ends of the front-tie sashes. The arms and interior are lined in royal blue silk.

- some discoloration to white silk, spotted staining to interior lining.
