Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Qashqai wool rug. This rug is rendered in a slight abrash palette of red, teal, orange, ivory, black, pink, blue, and tan. The bold red colored field features pictorial images of birds, flower filled vases, and other floral and geometric symbols, while beginning with a central medallion. Framing the field is a main border designed with birds and flowers, as well as sawtooth guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
