Vintage New York City Subway Revolving Sign
Item Details
A vintage New York City subway revolving sign. The piece features a black metal housing with a crank handle which turns the vinyl sign featuring the stop locations. The locations are printed in white on black vinyl and include ‘Hudson Terminal’, ‘Houston-2nd Ave’, ‘Sixth Ave. – 34th St.’ and others. The metal housing is additionally marked ‘No. 2 Lower Destination’. The Hudson Terminal was a rapid transit station on the Hudson & Manhattan Railroad, that opened in 1909 and closed in 1971, making way for the World Trade Center.
