A 19/20th century Adone headdress in polychrome paint, from the Kurumba people of Burkina Faso. The entire headdress carved in wood is painted in a diamond pattern with white stippling and bands at the antlers. The antelope headdress was worn during funerary rituals and ancestral veneration ceremonies.
