Vintage Hand Knotted Indo-Persian Wool Accent Rug

Item Details

A vintage hand-knotted Indo-Persian accent rug. This wool pile rug is rendered in cochineal red, with tones of olive green, deep blue, slate grey, tan, yellow, and ivory. It commences with two parallel chains of hooked diamond medallions, each infilled with geometric and foliate motifs. The field is populated with peacock forms, stepped diamonds, cruciforms, and eight-pointed stars. Framing the field is a single ivory border comprised of anthropomorphic shapes guiding Bactrian camels on leads. The rug is finished with overcast selvedges and wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
