Three graphite drawings on tracing paper
Unsigned
A group of three graphite architectural sketches on tracing paper by listed American artist Ricardo Morin (Venezuela, b. 1954). Two of the works depict an interior setting with six figures around two tables with modern decor. The sketches both depict the same space with varying levels of completion, providing insight into Morin’s artistic process. The third depicts a sketched design drawing for a television studio set. The pieces are not signed by the artist. Presented as loose papers without frames.
Morin immigrated to the United States from Venezuela in 1972. Based in New York and New Jersey, Morin received his B.F.A. at the State University of New York at Buffalo and his M.F.A. at Yale University. His work has been exhibited at multiple institutions including the Bronx Museum of the Arts; the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York; the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts in Brooklyn, New York; and many others. He is most well-known for his non-objective abstract paintings that exhibit a combination of linear delineation and fluidity.
