Hand-Knotted Inscribed Indo-Oushak Area Rug

A hand-knotted Indo-Oushak wool and art silk area rug. This rug is rendered in a variegated palette of slate blue, custard, cranberry, taupe, wheat, and silver. The slate blue hued field features a large scale herati design, while framed in a wide custard grounded floral meander border, along with a pair of carnation meander guard borders. It has an inscription to one end, near a corner accented with a cranberry stripe. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
