Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Turkish Yagcibedir wool ensi. This area rug or possible curtain is rendered in a palette of cranberry, cobalt, ivory, pine, burnt orange, and sepia. The field field is slightly off centered and features two large panels with Tekke candelabra elements, and hooked niches, while separated by a band of large kaikalak motifs. Framing the field are a series of borders including a serrated form and X pattern, barber pole strips, and geometric designs, as well as Tekke style elem panels to one end. Finishing this piece are double overcast selvedges and a gray wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
