Item Details
A hand-knotted Caucasian Kazak wool area rug. This rug is rendered in an abrash palette of madder red, ivory, cobalt, sky blue, sage, pale yellow, and mocha. The madder red hued field features a large sevan medallion infilled with ram’s horns and a central star. Framing the field is a main paneled border of animal head motifs, as well as a sawtooth, and a crenelated guard border. Finishing this rug are quadruple overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
