A Chinese cloisonné Empire style mantel clock. This ornate clock features a brass toned case accented with bright cloisonné throughout, including the urn shaped finial at the crest. Hand-painted porcelain panels flank the face that depict figurative and landscape scenes framed in foliate motifs. The clock face is housed in beveled glass panels, and it displays black Roman and Arabic numerals, spade tipped hands, and two key arbors. The pendulum features a hand-painted portrait on porcelain. The verso is marked with a small plaque that reads ‘Made in the People’s Republic of China Tianjin’.
