Vintage Hand-Knotted Indo-Caucasian Wool Accent Rug
Item Details
A vintage hand-knotted Indo-Caucasian accent rug. This wool pile rug is rendered in a palette of salmon, sky blue, sapphire, madder red, mulberry, khaki-gold, and ivory. It is centered with a trio of polyagonal medallions with sawtooth edges, each infilled with floral motifs and flanked by animal head patterns. The field is densely populated with diamonds, rosettes, flowering plants, and geometric forms. Framing the field are quatrefoil and bar guard borders, and a primary border comprised of a floral meander over ivory. The rug is finished with overcast selvedges and wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
