A vintage brass ship’s engine order telegraph or chadburn. The telegraph was used to communicate orders from the pilot on the bridge of the ship to the below-deck engineers about the desired power of the engine. This piece features the commands, ‘Full, Slow, Stop, Start, Ahead, Astern’ with two handles that rotate horizontally.
