Arthur Lucario Signed Laguna Etched Pottery Wedding Vase
Item Details
A signed Arthur Lucario Laguna etched pottery wedding vase. The vase is a traditional Pueblo vessel used in wedding ceremonies. One spout of the vessel represents the husband and the other the wife; the looped handle represents the unity achieved with marriage. The space created within the loop represents the circle of life. In the traditional ceremony, the couple drink nectar, prepared by a medicine man, from the spouts to represent the blending of their lives. The vase is in an off white unglazed finish, with arched black handle to the center of the diamond-patterned spouts, with a Pueblo dancer to the center of the ovoid base. The vase is signed to the verso with Lucario’s ‘A. & V. Lucario’ mark and includes a certificate of authenticity.
