A color lithograph poster for Biscotines Union designed by renowned poster artist Leonetto Cappiello (1875-1942), created circa 1906. Advertising Union bakery biscuits, this large-scale colorful poster is presented under glass in a black composite wood frame. A frame label is adhered to the verso.

Often referred to as ‘the father of modern advertising’, poster designer and painter Leonetto Cappeillo was especially known for his use of simple lines and juxtaposing bold figures against dark backgrounds. Originally from Italy, his artistic ambition drew him to work in Paris where he produced nearly 1000 posters in his lifetime. His work crossed the boundaries from Bell Epoque to Art Nouveau and even Art Deco.
