A 1960 limited edition Picasso’s Sketchbook Carnet de la Californie (1955-1956) after Pablo Picasso (1881-1973). It is published by Harry Abrams & Editions Cercle d’Arte (1960) and this is the American limited first edition, one of 1000 copies. The ‘cover’ is a pictorial cloth folding slipcase which houses a narrow, metal spiral ‘sketchbook’ and 10 inch oblong booklet. The ‘sketchbook’ is a facsimile of the 25-sheet sketchbook used by Pablo Picasso from November 1, 1955 to January 14, 1956 during his stay at the villa la Californie, Cannes. Condition
Consistent with age. The portfolio cover has yellowed, there is some minor foxing to the endpapers. The cover of the portfolio has some fading, but the facsimile drawings are in good shape.
