A hand-knotted northwest Persian tribal area rug. This geometric rug is rendered in a palette of dark red, mocha, navy, cream and dark brown. It features a center field with mirrored geometric medallions. Framing the field are two bands of oval lozenges in camel and red against a navy ground, surrounded by an unresolved panel border. Selvedges are hand overcast, the rug finishing at each end with wool warp fringe.
