Regency Brass-Inlaid Mahogany and Ebony Bracket Clock, Circa 1815
Item Details
A Regency brass-inlaid mahogany and ebony bracket clock, circa 1815, retailed through Charles Leach (fl. 1850s) of King William Street, London. The bracket clock features a mahogany arched case with brass inlay, chamfered pediment and finial, and cornucopia ring handles over reticulated brass fish scale panels. The round, white metal dial with painted Roman numerals and the retailers name, with moon hands and two key arbors. A hinged glass door at the back displays the brass fusèe movement with etched brass pendulum, with the bell and strike mounted to an etched brass back plate. The clock rests on ball feet.
