Item Details

A finely hand-knotted Indo-Persian wool area rug. The rug displays a black field, decorated with arabesque vines, palmettes and lancet leaves in rich blues, greens, gold, burgundy. The field is surrounded by a series of floral minor borders and a meandering palmette principal border. The rug is finished with wool warp fringe at either end, and overcast selvedges. It is unlabeled.

Condition

- slight fading to areas of rug from sunlight, most visible in gold coloring of border.
