Hand-Knotted Signed Turkish Caucasian Rug

A hand-knotted Turkish-Caucasian wool area rug. The rug has an abrashed palette of indigo, rust, bright pink, lavender, sage, grey, green, sky blue and mocha, with a center medallion with indigo ground atop a rust-colored field with spandrels having a similar rectilinear design. A single principal border of lobed flowers is held between two guard borders of chained floral designs with an inner sawtooth border. Signed in turquoise green at one end between spandrels. Overcast edges and knotted cotton warp fringe complete the piece.
