An antique Anatolian long rug. This wool pile rug is rendered in abrashed palette of madder red, cornflower, rose, khaki-gold, and ivory. It commences with a large scale oval medallion comprised of floral and foliate motifs and flanked by floral pendants. The elongated field features implied spandrels comprised of multi-colored bouquets, each accented with a serpentine ribbon form. Framing the field are diamond guard borders, while the primary border displays a foliate motif over cornflower. The rug is finished with double overcast selvedges, a brief kilim skirt, and wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
