A vintage hand-knotted Persian Baluch tribal area rug. This flat weave wool rug is rendered in a palette of crimson, green, shades of taupe and brown, and ivory. It commences with a pair of diamond medallions, each framed by multi-colored lobed elements, while the field is populated with cruciforms and rosettes. Framing the field is a barber pole guard border, with striped elem panels at each short end. The rug is finished with overcast selvedges and natural warp fringe of goat hair. It retains a label to the reverse.
